Re:

We needed a fresh way to package IRDC 2011's unique value to retail designers together with it's exciting location in San Francisco. Rather than default to the usual trite San Francisco iconography (think Golden Gate, painted ladies, etc.) we used typography to hint at the fun locale and the retail inspiration it offers to the conference's target attendee.
